It was a cold evening but the light was just right! I loved shooting this maternity session, Tenisha was gorgeous!
Sara and Jacob · Fredericksburg Newborn Shoot
Abby · Portrait Mini-Session · Washington DC
Here’s a fun downtown mini-session I got to do with the amazing Abby!
Robyn · Senior Portraits
I’m finally able to start shooting again after a very interesting year indeed. It’s a good feeling to be able to get concert tickets and visit friends again. It’s been a while, but I just had to celebrate my friend, Robyn. She just completed her masters and did an amazing job juggling school, work, and being there for her friends this past couple of years. Here are some favorites from a fun DC shoot! During the shoot we talked about how bittersweet it is to wrap up one journey and go on to the next. It’s been a little rough for everyone this past year, but I’m looking forward to the rest of our journeys and using what we've learned. Congrats and good luck on your next endeavor, Robyn!
Tasha & Claire · Family Session
There are certain days that you know, while they are happening, that you will never forget; this was one of those magical days. The first session we planned was unfortunately rained out; but soon after, we got together and spent an afternoon making friends and memories. During the latter half or our session we made a quick Starbucks stop, neither of us could resist a caffeinated pick-me-up and getting hot drinks together was an activity Claire and Tasha loved. The pair of them looked flawless and you could feel their bond as they held hands down the sidewalk; wrapped up in the warmth and energy of that perfect, milky grey autumn afternoon. Despite the clouds, the memories we captured that day truly show Claire and Tasha's inner sunshine.
Olivers · Fort Belvoir Family Session
The only thing more beautiful than the light streaming through the late autumn trees was the lovely Oliver Family. From the quiet strength of their father, Ramsey to the joyous and simple kindness of their daughter Micaela the day was a joy to be a part of from start to finish. It is on days like this that I feel so fortunate to do this work. I wanted to capture the essence of each member of this unique family from the loving and easy going sensibility of Melissa to the authentic playfulness of Copeland and I think I was successful in bringing out their genuine selves. There was a magical quality to the entire day and I hope in addition to capturing the happiness of this wonderful family, we also created memories that would last forever.
Ruths · Family Session
Here is the Ruth clan! I had so much fun working with them and spending the morning hanging out at this beautiful park with them. Sometimes it's hard to be in the moment while getting family pictures, but the these guys just played and had a good time. It was great! I can't even get started with how cute the little ones are. So adorable!
Luke & Laura · Anniversary Portrait Session
I think this has been one of my favorite shoots yet. I first met Laura freshman year of college as did I Luke, who went to another school, but still made the trip to come see Laura during their first year in a long term relationship and going to different colleges. I have seen them go through so much together and and grow with each other as adults and a couple. They share a love that is simply evident in the the way they smile at each other. They are also some of the coolest people I know and I was so excited when they agreed to try out a sunrise anniversary session with me. Their dog Mabel is such a cutie and I loved her random expressions throughout the shoot. I can't wait to see where life brings them next :)
Walter & Laura · Engaged
Meet Walter and Laura; these two are very adorable and very much in love. We went to DC during the Cherry Blossom Festival for their sweet engagement session. Even though there were tons of people we were still able to find some cute spots! I loved getting to see all of the blossoms and spring flowers. They really made some of our backgrounds pop with color!
Kristin · Senior Portraits
I don't even know where to start with this girl! Kristin is going to Baylor next year and is so amazingly talented and driven. I loved getting to shoot her senior portrait session and getting to know her and her mom who came along for the ride! Kristin and I actually have a few things in common so it was fun to bring out similar interests we have throughout her shoot. We both looove music and hiking! We started at the piano where Kristin casually whipped out some Beethoven and then headed over to Manassas Battlefield. It was a beautiful day and I had such a great time capturing Kristin's beauty and personality throughout this session!
